Site Information and Browsing Tips - jkh
I'm sorry if while you were browsing this website or attempting to log on, you ran into peculiarities. Because there are so very few people who will be accessing this site, I make modifications at any given time, totally disregarding the fact that someone may be browsing mossyspring.com. I realize that it is not normal for a webmaster to disregard his clientele, but like I stated, I assume the chances or very minimal that I will disturb somebody unless this site gets accessed more often than I might think.
I am laying out & testing this site with a fairly narrow view of potential client configurations. The ideal system at this point will be running Windows Explorer 5.5 or newer. I haven't tested the site using Netscape as of yet. Your system would have a recent copy of Windows Media Player and an MP3 player installed. The latest Windows Media Player may be all that is needed but I can't swear to it. The graphics should be set for color depth of 16 bit color or greater and screen resolution of 1024 X 768. If your system is set for less you can still view the site but you may need to scroll quite a bit to view everything. It would be great if you had a broadband connection such as T1, DSL, or Cable but I have tested the site with a dialup 56K modem and I was comfortable after most items got cached. It probably is a long wait of a minute or two the first time visiting the site. The sound will start playing after a couple of minutes but in the mean time you should be able to start browsing while the sound file is downloading.
As soon as you get to the Mossy website and you start browsing, I would suggest you press the F11 key which maximizes the size of the browser window to give the picture frame more room to display pictures in. If this doesn't allow you to view the whole picture (top to bottom), I suggest you try the next bulleted step.
If you like, while you are displaying log pages or pictures, you can move the cursor to the line between the right lower frame and the upper frame until you get a double arrow. You can than move the top of the picture window up to increase the viewing area a little. You can do the same for the side but in most cases you shouldn't have to.
Each time you visit a new page, the page is actually downloaded into your computers hard disk. After you have visited most pages, when you go back to revisit them, they should display almost immediately.
If you would like to play the background music again after you can do so by pressing F5 or whatever way your browser allows you to refresh.
